In 1995
Denis took part in musical festivals in Kuhmo
(Finland) and in Davos, and as a result of his
participation in these festivals he was invited
to go on tour in Japan. In 1996 he performed music
for two pianos with Konstantin Lifschitz at the
Royal Academy of Music in London. The same year
he was invited to give a recital in the Verdi
Hall at the Milan Conservatoire.
In October
of 1997 Denis went on tour to Switzerland with
the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra under Vladimir
Fedosseyev. In 1998 he won first prize at the
M. Rostropovich New Foundation Scholarship (H.
Neuhaus Scholarship) and in July 1999 was reinvited
to play with the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra
under Maestro Pascu-Radulescu.
Denis
Burstein has been appointed officially as a professor
of the Russian Gnessin Academy of Music, the youngest
professor in the history of the Academy. His appearance
at the Third Anual Miami International Piano Festival
of Discovery was his official U.S. debut. Mr.
Burstein will appear again this year on February
5, 2001.
His repertoire
includes works by Bach, Beethoven Schumann, Brahms,
Liszt, Rachmaninov, Medtner, Scriabin, Prokofiev,
Stravinsky and his own works.
