From Our Artistic Director to Our Friends and Supporters
As we celebrate our 20th Anniversary Season, we celebrate the culmination of an inspiring journey and a unique perspective in living up to the original mission of this Festival, discovering the kind of artists that with their individual voice will enlighten and guide a whole pianists interested in a concert career.
Our 2016 Season was filled with inspiration, great performances, interesting collaborations and the continuation of one of the greatest ventures, the creation of the Miami International Piano Festival’s Academy in partnership with NSU a great institution that has opened its doors to us and made it possible for this dream to become a reality.
The creation of the Academy is the result of my own personal journey of discovery through 20 marvelous years of inspiration at the Piano Festival, where I had the privilege of being surrounded by some of the greatest pianists of today . It is because of them that discovered the truth and logic of music, an experience that I felt compelled to share with the next generation of emerging pianists.
I strongly believe that if pianists are nurtured by outstanding musicians and performers in a creative, and non-competitive environment, they will not only find their own voices but they will feel empowered and will have the courage to face the difficult path of an artist. And this is exactly what has happened in the Academy.’
I feel humbled and deeply touched by the outpour of generosity of our extraordinary faculty who gave it all to the gifted pianists that attended our program and by my passionate team who stood by my side unconditionally. Our wonderful artists and our team are deeply committed to this unique program I am certain that together we will reach greater heights.
Great ventures are born from dreams. With so many great artists closely involved with the Festival creating a legacy of knowledge, inspiration, and a place to nurture talent seems to be a natural evolution for this project.
This is just the beginning of an exciting journey that I hope will continue. Our Festivals is the canvas where our artists display their creativity and the Academy the sanctuary where we will shape, nurture and inspire the next generations of great pianists. I strongly believe that it is in this kind of environment that creativity blooms.
As we continue the 2017 Season we ask you to become an active supporter of our festival and the Academy and help us build a unique place which is vital for both our artists and the next generation of pianists.
WE NEED YOU! Please consider joining our Piano Family by becoming members and include our festival among your favorite charities so we can continue to accomplish our mission. Please support our mission.
Thank you for making these past 20 years so special, rich and rewarding for our artists, emerging pianists and the community and I sincerely hope that you will join us in this celebration as we announce the Season 2016 – 2017 with more than 14 extraordinary piano recitals,
With Warmest Regards,
