My heartfelt warm wishes for you this Holiday Season. Reflecting on this past season I would like to personally thank you for your indispensable support and generosity in response to the pandemic, and to the many groundbreaking projects we have developed this year. We planted several seeds that are now bearing fruits. I personally feel reinvigorated by the many accomplishments we have achieved thanks to you and our passionate team.

After dealing with many challenges, the Virtual Platform is finally a reality. This virtual platform provides the means to realize our commitment to continue with the activities of the Miami International Piano Festival and Academy (MIPFA); it allows our marvelous artists to continue sharing their artistry with our audience and empowers emerging pianists with the opportunity to explore their own imagination and share their voice with others.

The creation of the Piano Academy has been a tremendous milestone in the development and history of the festival. After its successful inauguration in 2015, six years later in 2022 we brought this unique program to Briosco, Italy, at the magical 17th Century Villa Medici–Giulini, attracting 30 students from all over the world. A marvelous documentary, made during those magic days at Villa Medici-Giulini, captured the essence of our mission. I am delighted to share it with you.

Profoundly inspired by the enchanting Italian experience, Dr. Vilma Biaggi, a board member and devoted advocate of our programs, decided to bring the magic of the Villa Medici summer academy to our community in Southern Florida. This amazing dream becomes a reality this January 2023, at her beautiful Hotel Cadet in Miami Beach. Dr. Biaggi’s generosity will allow the interchange between the illustrious veterans with the refreshing creativity of young talents, all of them sharing their art with our community. We hope it becomes a yearly event.

The Miami Beach Winter Academy will take place from January 2 to 9, thanks to the sponsorship of the City of Miami Beach. Concerts will take place at the Cadet Hotel and at nearby Botanical Garden. Always expanding our wings, we have taken the Miami International Piano Festival to Berlin. The series “Close Encounters with Our Artists” was successfully inaugurated in September of 2022. This special program will not only give exposure to our artists in Europe, but it will allow us to produce some of the most extraordinary projects where a select number of our artists will share their vision for the future, leaving their legacy for generations to come. These projects will all be available in our state-of-the-art Virtual Platform.

As we enter 2023, I feel grateful, hopeful, and optimistic about the future of classical music because our artists are innovators and visionaries who bring something new and exciting to every one of their performances. MIPF offers them the freedom of their own voice, a platform to create, explore and challenge our audience. Through our state-of-the-art Virtual Platform, we will make sure that every performance and every project will endure for a long time.

In support of this ambitious undertaking, I fervently hope to count with your generous donation once again. Our journey into the future has just begun and we are committed to move forward and inspire emerging pianists, piano lovers, and future generations.
